I-Tetromino — The Line Piece
Color: Cyan
The only piece made of four cells in a straight line. The star of the 'Tetris' — clearing four lines at once.
The I-piece is the longest tetromino, with four cells joined in a single row. Stood on end, it fills four rows of height at once — leave a one-cell-wide well on the right edge, drop an I-piece into it, and you complete a 'Tetris,' clearing four lines simultaneously.
Since a Tetris is the most points-efficient clear, many players save I-pieces in hold to drop into the well. But if an I-piece doesn't show up for a while, the well can get dangerously deep, so tracking the NEXT queue to gauge when one will arrive is important.
In SRS rotation, the I-piece uses its own dedicated wall kick table, different from the other pieces, letting it flexibly switch between horizontal and vertical orientations even in tight spaces.
