Chaining Combos

Difficulty: Intermediate

Clear lines back-to-back without a break to rack up bonus points.

A combo is a bonus that builds up when every piece placement clears at least one line, without a break. The more consecutive clears, the bigger the bonus.

To keep a combo going, you need to design the stack so that every piece clears at least one line. A classic 'combo setup' is building a staircase surface on one side and filling it in sequence with pieces.

Combos are point-efficient, but once broken, you have to build them up again from scratch, so it's best to keep them within a range you can sustain reliably rather than forcing them.
