SRS Rotation and Wall Kicks
Difficulty: Intermediate
An adjustment that completes a rotation even when blocked by a wall or other pieces.
SRS (Super Rotation System) is the standard rotation ruleset for modern falling block puzzles. Each piece has a defined pivot point and orientation, making rotation outcomes predictable.
A wall kick is an adjustment that, when a piece can't rotate in place because it's blocked by a wall or other pieces, nudges the piece slightly in a defined sequence and attempts the rotation again. This lets pieces change orientation even in tight gaps or right next to a wall.
Understanding the wall kick movement rules lets you deliberately set up advanced techniques like T-spins or wedging under overhangs. SRS is the foundation of every rotation-based technique.
