Levels and Fall Speed

How to keep up as the game speeds up.

In Marathon mode, your level rises by 1 for every 10 lines cleared in total, and pieces fall faster as your level increases.

As speed increases, you have less time to think, so check the NEXT queue in advance and plan two or three moves ahead. Deciding where a piece will go before it arrives keeps you from panicking.

At high levels, speeding up placement with hard drops and finesse, while keeping the stack low and flat for breathing room, is the key to survival.
