From singles to Tetrises — what should you go for?

A single, clearing just one line, is the most basic but least point-efficient clear. Efficiency rises with a double (two lines) and a triple (three lines), and clearing four lines at once — a Tetris — is the most efficient of all.

To land a Tetris, fill nine columns flat while leaving one column open as a well, then drop an I-piece into it vertically. While maintaining the well, keep the other lines filled to just nine cells.

If you're chasing score, it's better to focus on Tetrises and T-spins rather than clearing singles constantly. That said, if the stack gets dangerously high, forget efficiency and clear lines to bring the height down.
