Hard Drop

Instantly drop a piece to the bottom to speed things up.

A hard drop instantly sends a piece all the way to the bottom (or the top of the stack) and locks it in place immediately. Trigger it with the spacebar or the on-screen hard drop button — it also awards a small bonus based on how many cells it fell.

Even at low levels where gravity is slow, hard drops let you place pieces quickly without waiting, making them essential in speed- and score-focused modes like Sprint and Ultra.

But spamming hard drops without checking the landing spot leads to mistakes you can't undo. It's safer to confirm the position with the ghost piece first.
